SEC Championship

Who would have ever guessed that last year's 5-7 (2-6 SEC) Missouri Tigers would be this year's SEC East champions with only one loss to their name? I certainly wasn't a believer this preseason, but I'm quite pleased to have been proven wrong. This past weekend Mizzou punched their tickets to the SEC Championship game in Atlanta, and I was fortunate enough to make the trip to capture their first ever trip to the Georgiadome to play for the SEC title.

Tennessee Titans at St. Louis Rams

I'm fortunate enough to have a wonderful mentor that spoils me from time-to-time.  Today, L.G. invited me along to St. Louis where he was shooting the Rams-Titans game for AP. I was there to run cards, but had some down time between trips to the photo workroom to shoot a little bit. It was my first time shooting football above the high school level and all I had with me was my D3 and an 80-200mm lens, but I'm pretty happy with what I came away with. After making a mental note of the lack of female photographers on the sideline, I left with more determination than ever to prove we ladies are capable and ready to be let into the world of sports photograhy. Hope y'all enjoy -

New York Mets for SI

At 5:00 p.m. on Friday, I quickly gathered my things and ran to the 42nd St.-Times Square subway stop to catch the Queens-bound 7 train. After 45 minutes of traveling I reached the stop for Citi Field in Flushing. Nervous, I stepped off of the train and headed to the gate to get my media credentials. As the ballpark worker handed me my first and third base photo passes, I couldn't do anything but smile. After all, it's not every day that you recieve your first Major League Baseball credentials for Sports Illustrated.

The Mets were hosting the Kansas City Royals - my team away from home (I'll always be a Rangers fan first) - so I was pretty excited to catch them while they were in New York. Shooting the match-up was dream come true. It was better than Christmas, Thanksgiving and my birthday all rolled into one.

Four days later, I was given the opportunity to shoot the Mets again as Matt Harvey took the mound against the Colorado Rockies. Since my first game, I had recieved a lot of feedback and was excited to see what I could improve upon from my first game.

Here are my favorite shots from the two games. Enjoy!
