Royals Opening Day

BASEBALL IS BACK!

I’m back for my second year as an LCC (Live Content Creator) for MLB, and feeling incredibly lucky that despite all of the current circumstances I’m not only able to cover baseball, but do so from the field. I’m getting tested at least bi-weekly throughout the season and will be crossing my fingers six feet away from the nearest human being, hoping that the players, coaches, and supporting casts at each ballpark can all stay healthy.

The Royals hosted the Chicago White Sox this past weekend, debuting new skipper Mike Matheny and a few new faces. Have I said yet how lucky I feel to be doing this?

NASCAR for USATSI

After four long months I finally dusted off my cameras and photographed a live sport on Thursday.

There were no fans, plenty of humidity, and lots of pace car appearances at the Super Start Batteries 400 at Kansas Speedway.

Here are my favorite images, taken for USA Today Sports Images:

Democratic Primary

With the news of Bernie Sanders dropping out of the Democratic Primary race today, I realized a post on my political coverage from this past winter was much overdue.

I had the pleasure of photographing Sanders alongside Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in Council Bluffs, Iowa and Elizabeth Warren in Clarinda and Council Bluffs, Iowa before the primary. Thank you so much to my editors at The New York Times for sending me out!

Here are a few of my favorite images from the events:

2019-2020 Kansas City Comets Season

I’m incredibly bummed to be writing this post so prematurely, but with the cancellation of the remainder of the MASL season due to the Coronavirus, I have no other choice. It was an honor to return for the Comets’ 10th season and my third with the team. We have a great group of guys here in KC and I’m already looking forward to kick-off this fall.

Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl LIV Victory Parade

The Kansas City Chiefs hosted a victory parade through downtown Kansas City, Missouri (*ahem*) after winning their first Super Bowl in 50 YEARS on Sunday in Miami. It was freezing outside, but the day started off with a bang — no really. There was a high-speed police car chase on the parade route at 8:00 a.m. Despite the cold, it was great to see the players and associated staff celebrating an incredible season. Here are a few of my favorite images from the day, taken from the media platform at Grand Boulevard and 20th Street.
