NCAA Basketball
Saturday I wrapped up a four day, nine game marathon photographing the 2018 Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament at the Sprint Center in downtown Kansas City, Mo. for USA Today Sports Images. It was exhausting and maddening and a BLAST. Here are a few of my favorite images from the extravaganza (down from almost 10k shots):
As a Mizzou graduate and diehard Tigers fan, this is supremely difficult to say, but I think it's time for me to admit that Allen Fieldhouse is a really fun place to catch a basketball game. The crowd was rockin' Saturday evening when the Jayhawks came back to defeat West Virginia in Lawrence. Here's a few of my favorites from the game:
The first sports assignment I shot for the Columbia Missourian was a 2013 matchup between the Universtiy of Missouri and Ole Miss at Mizzou Arena. I hadn't shot a game there since I graduated that year, so it was a real treat to be able to return to my alma mater (as an unbiased media member, of course) and shoot an exciting game between the Tigers and the Florida Gators in some nice afternoon light. It looked like Mizzou had it in the bag until a last second turnover gave Florida an easy layup for the win. Here are a few of my favorite images from my trip to CoMo:
I recently signed a contract with USA Today Sports Images (!!!) and my first assignment for them was to photograph Kansas Men's Basketball as they hosted Arizona State at the infamous Allen Fieldhouse. Having graduated from the University of Missouri while the MU/kU rivalry was still in effect, I've never actually been to Lawrence, let alone set foot in The Phog. I have to admit, it was an awesome experience despite the Sun Devils taking the win from the Jayhawks. Thank you so much to the editors at USA Today Sports for taking a chance on this Midwest gal. I can't wait for whatever comes next.

Something I enjoy: going to UMKC Roos games at Municipal Auditorium in downtown Kansas City on the weekends.
Something I love: getting to photograph the school I work for's basketball team play at UMKC.
The WJC Cardinals took on the Roos this past weekend and I had a blast shooting at Municipal for the first time. I'm familiar with the space as a fan, so it was cool to be able to photograph there. Not only that, but UMKC was wearing special uniforms designed by Charlie Hustle for "Kansas City Day" that were incredible. Here are a few of my favorite shots.
